Fall of the Roman Empire
There were many factors leading up to the fall of the Roman empire, for example, Romans changes from a polytheistic religion were the believed the emperor was considered a god to the monotheistic religion of Christianity. This caused authority to weaken because the emperor was no longer seen as the highest power. Meanwhile the west was the first to fall while the east thrived for another hundreds of years because of its ties with the Christian church. The decrease in the west caused a decrease in agriculture meaning more money for food. During trade between the East and West, the west would buy luxury items but would have noting to offer the East. Inflation was also a problem that also lead to the fall, the government began to make more money with less silver in it. German invasion disrupted the flow of trade mainly in the west. Political amateurs were in control of Rome and the military had no real loyalty to Rome. To fix this the government had hired cheap German soldiers to fight with the Romans. Finally, in 476 C.E. the last Roman empire Romulus was over thrown by a germanic leader which was the end of the Roman empire.
